Municipal Affairs Minister Zach Churchill supports recommendations from a committee that examined expense policies and practices. Amendments to the Municipal Government Act will be brought forward this spring to reflect most recommendations, which include requiring municipalities and villages to post CAO and elected official expenses online.

Service NS to do liquor licence police checks for free
Businesses and community groups applying for a permanent liquor licence can now have the police check done for free by Service Nova Scotia. It previously had to be done by the RCMP, municipal police or a third-party for $30-$50.
