Possible Tornadoes

New Brunswick officials say there may have been tornadoes during a violent storm that hit the province Thursday night, ripping roofs off and pulling down power utility poles.

Robert Duguay of the province’s Emergency Measures Organization says it’s lucky no one was injured in the powerful storm that unleashed fierce winds, lightning and then downpours on a wide swath of the Acadian Peninsula.

The causeway and bridge linking Lameque and Miscou islands to Shippagan was closed to all traffic except emergency vehicles after more than a dozen power lines were knocked down and fell across the sole link to the mainland.

Trump – Russia

The F-B-I’s Trump-Russia investigation has reportedly moved into the White House, as the president heads overseas.

The Washington Post reports a senior Trump adviser is now considered a “person of interest” in the probe into possible co-ordination between the election campaign and Russia.

Meantime, the New York Times reports the president told Russian officials he felt the dismissal of F-B-I Director James Comey relieved “great pressure” on him.

And the Senate Intelligence Committee has announced that Comey has agreed to testify at an open hearing.

All of this comes as Trump makes his first overseas trip as president, beginning in Saudi Arabia today.

Air Force One touched down in Riyadh this morning after an overnight flight from Washington.
