From now until June 16th, the Amherst Food Assistance Network is having a “Fill the Tent Food Drive.”
Everyone who makes a donation at the food bank will get entered into a draw for a framed Nova Scotia picture or plaid placemats from the Artisans Gallery and John Warner.
You’re being asked not to donate dented cans or food that’s passed its best before date, as the food bank ends up having to throw those items out.
P.E.I. Nova Scotia; and New Brunswick are changing the way they issue driver’s licenses to upgrade security and increase uniformity.
Right now, provincial service centres print licenses on-site and drivers walk out with their new card in hand.
Under the new central-issuance system, people will have to wait seven to 10 days to receive their new ID’s in the mail.
The four provinces entered into a contract worth $11.5 million with Gemalto to produce licenses at a Burlington, Ont. plant.
