Pugwash is a finalist in the 2017 national Communities in Bloom competition.
Judges will be in the area in July to tour and judge on six aspects, such as tidiness; floral arrangements, landscaping; urban forestry, environment and heritage.

A horrific explosion in Pakistan has killed 153 people including women and children.
Hundreds of residents of a village had gathered when an overturned oil tanker started leaking fuel. They were gathering it up in cans when it exploded. It’s believed a spark from all the cars and motor bikes that were rushing to the site ignited the fuel. There’s also a report someone may have struck a match to light a cigarette.
