Man in Custody after Two People Injured in Amherst Stabbing

A 41-year-old man is facing attempted murder charged after a stabbing in Amherst, NS on Thursday. Police say a 47-year-old man was airlifted to a Halifax Hospital after being stabbed multiple times at a residence on West Pleasant Street in Amherst. A 35-year-old woman was also treated for injuries. Police say all three involved in the incident were known to each other and it was not a random act. 41-year-old David Alexander Baxter is facing charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
