Atlantic bluefin tuna will not be listed under the Species at Risk Act. It was assessed as endangered by scientists in 2011, and although has showed signs of increase since the population is still below 1970s levels. The Ecology Action Centre says the government still must act to protect the species, and they’re not off the hook despite this decision.
