The 2017 striped bass fishery will have a longer season than 2016. The retention period starts April 15th and ends October 31st, an increase of 95 days. The bag limit will be one fish per day until June 14th, and again from September 1st until October 31st. June 15th to August 31st will allow two per day. Fishing will not be permitted in part of the Northwest Miramichi River from about mid-May to mid-June during the spawning period.
