Halifax police church visit

Police Chief Jean-Michel Blais went to church yesterday, but not his usual one.

Blais was at Cornwallis Street Baptist Church for its annual service which is meant to promote racial unity.  Police have been attending for years and officers form the choir for the service.

Blais told the congregation of his force’s committment to eliminate racial discrimination and about the police’s core values.

Two people walked out during his speech, but generally Blais was warmly received.
