A 100-year-old hockey stick that was gathering dust in a Nova Scotia man’s basement is being donated to a Mi’kmaq heritage centre.
Stewart Matheson says the wooden stick was created by the Mi’kmaq over a century ago.
He decided the best place for it was the Membertou Heritage Park in Cape Breton.
People at the centre say it will fit in well with the legend that Mi’kmaq were the first to play the game of hockey hundreds of years ago.
