A WestJet spokeswoman says the airline has offered to pay the vet bill for a dog that was missing for two days in Ontario after being placed on a wrong flight out of Halifax.
The dog’s owners say Cooper — a golden Labradoodle — was supposed to go to Deer Lake, Newfoundland, on Wednesday to stay with family but ended up in Hamilton.
While there, the dog got loose during a bathroom break and was finally found this morning — wet, dirty and starving, but otherwise O-K.
WestJet has apologized for the mishap, flew the dog’s owners to Hamilton and says it’s now working on getting the family back home.
