Glace Bay PeeWee A Miners award

The Glace Bay PeeWee A Miners hockey team has won a big trophy for their efforts off the ice.

A video of the players visiting a senior’ home on Valentine’s Day and handing out cupcakes, cookies and plants earned the team $2,000 and a chance to compete for the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup which has a top prize of $15,000.

Coach Kenzie Wadden, proud of his players, told CBC they were there for almost two hours visiting talking to the residents and listening to their stories.  He says it made the seniors happy, and the boys happy as well.
