Port Hawkesbury Paper

The McNeil Government is encouraged by a ruling by a NAFTA panel which ordered the U-S Commerce Department to reconsider costly tariffs on Canadian mills that produce glossy magazine paper, like Port Hawkesbury Paper.

The panel unanimously ordered the department to look at various key matter including electricity when setting duties.  The province says the 20 dollar duty which was applied to Port Hawkesbury Paper has been held in trust while this matter is appealed.

Bridgewater doctor trial

The Bridgewater trial of a doctor is expected to wrap up today.

The Crown withdrew the most serious driug charges against Dr. Sarah Dawn Jones last week leaving charges of fraud, possession of oxycodone; and drawing a document without authority.
