New Brunswick Junior Hockey League suspension

The New Brunswick Junior Hockey League has suspended Grand Lake Moose forward Brogan Flanagan for all of the 2017-18 regular season and playoffs for his part in the fight during the semifinal game held on Saturday night at the Lord Beaverbrook Rink in Saint John.

According to the Telegraph-Journal, Flanagan went over the glass from the penalty box to get into a fight with a fan; who had poured beer on Flanagan’s head.

Flanagan said of the suspension ending his junior career, it’s (quote)  “Time to grow up and think about my future.  I will miss the team atmosphere, though.”

Debate over NB voting age

It’s a contentious measure in the New Brunswick electoral reform commission’s recommendations:  lowering the voting age to 16.

That would make New Brunswick the first place in Canada to allow people that young to vote.

However, quite a number of people feel that young people are too gullible and immature to choose who runs the province.

The opposition Tories point out that the economy is struggling, adding that the liberal government should focus on that; instead of trying to jiggle the voting age.
