Four years for drunk driving death

A Fredericton man has been sentenced to four years in prison for a drunk driving accident that killed a woman in Fredericton last June.

Marc-Andre Doucet was driving drunk when he crashed his car killing 24 year old Jennifer Dawn Brewer whose body wasn’t found until two days later in the St. John River. He initially tried to claim she had been driving.

Humans were in central NB earlier than first thought

Indigenous people have been in central New Brunswick longer than estimated.

Carbon dating has confirmed an encampment uncovered during road construction near Fredericton is one of the oldest sites in northeastern North America. It shows natives were camping in the area within a millenia of the last ice age melting.  The site shows occupation between 12,600 and 12,700 years ago.
