Mounties without stripes won’t be disciplined

Top RCMP brass won’t be punishing officers who have been covering up the yellow stripe on their pants legs in a protest over a recent pay package they don’t think is enough.

He doesn’t like it but CBC reports Commissioner Bob Paulson issued a statement saying officers opting to take the yellow stripe off their pants or cover it up won’t be disciplined.  Officers across the country have been using this as a way to protest recent raises which they don’t think are enough.

Atlantic premiers discuss clean energy

Premier Brian Gallant says the Atlantic Premiers want to make sure this region has reliable green energy and that electricity rates are stable and competitive.

At their meeting in Saint John yesterday, Premier Stephen McNeil of Nova Scotia said he and the other Atlantic premiers must work to find common ground as they develop an action plan on clean energy for the region. The energy ministers will have a new Atlantic Clean Energy Partnership ready by this summer.
