Official Languages Commissioner Katherine d’Entremont says the amount of bilingual senior provincial officials is unacceptable. A survey of 21 French organizations and municipalities found only four said that language was always used at meetings with them. D’Entremont says bilingualism should be a legislated requirement for those jobs.

Power of Attorney Action Group wants provincial legislation
A newly formed group has joined in asking the province to enact Power of Attorney Legislation. The Power of Attorney Action Group says New Brunswick is the only province without that legislation, and without it costs and other legal headaches are more so than necessary. The group points out our aging population as a main reason this is needed.
