The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Lake Echo Beach is closed to swimming until further notice due to high bacteria levels in the water.

Habitat for Humanity
Two deck platforms have been stolen from Habitat for Humanity in New Brunswick.
The charitable organization says the platforms were built by volunteers who were in Fredericton a few weeks ago.
They were being stored at the organization’s St. Mary’s Street location until they could be moved to a home being built on Clark Street.
Officials say the theft of platforms — one four feet by six feet and the other six feet by eight feet — is a huge loss of both material and time for the volunteer-based organization.
