SIRT has found no grounds for charges against a Mountie over an accident in Weston. The officer pursued a vehicle on the 101 July 24th, 2016. The suspect vehicle fled and ended up flipping on Highway 221, after the chase was discontinued for safety reasons. The investigation found the officer’s fast driving was justified in attempting to stop the other vehicle, which left the road going 165 km/h.
