RCMP crackdown on intersection infractions

Codiac RCMP issued 24 tickets and 27 written warnings last Friday for infractions at intersections in Greater Moncton.

The Mounties will continue to monitor intersections for the rest of the month in a crackdown in response to complaints from the public.

The most common violation was failing to come to a complete stop before turning right on a red light…drivers just slowing down a little and rolling around the corner. There were also others not wearing seatbelts, some with studded tires still on their cars. 9 pedestrians were also warned about crossing on the don’t walk signal.
