One person went to hospital yesterday after a vehicle went off Route 8. The driver is okay but the passenger suffered minor injuries. They were heading northbound at the time, with police saying they swerved to avoid a deer.

Amendments to strengthen Smoke Free Places Act proposed
The province is proposing amendments to strengthen the enforcement of the Smoke Free Places Act. They would allow peace officers and inspectors to give tickets for smoking in public places. The draft regulations are posted for your review until August 2nd. See them here:
