Roger Melanson will travel to Augusta, Maine on Monday to promote New Brunswick’s trade relationship with the US. The minister responsible for Trade Policy will meet with multiple state officials to explore mutual benefits. New Brunswick sent $767 million worth of exports to Maine last year, while the state sent $1 billion worth here.

Striped Bass
The 2017 striped bass fishery will have a longer season than 2016. The retention period starts April 15th and ends October 31st, an increase of 95 days. The bag limit will be one fish per day until June 14th, and again from September 1st until October 31st. June 15th to August 31st will allow two per day. Fishing will not be permitted in part of the Northwest Miramichi River from about mid-May to mid-June during the spawning period.
