After 10 weeks in operation, the River Watch Program for the 2017 freshet season is done today. Water levels along the St. John River basin are returning to normal. The overall program continues all year, to monitor during heavy rainfall.

Ritchie Wharf will have half a dozen businesses operating for the upcoming season.
Miramichi put the process out to tender for the first time this year.
Newcomers include The Candy Patch, a candy store; and a cafe-style restaurant called VERA.
Returnees are East Wind Gifts, Brandi’s Dairy Delight; restaurant operator Ron Poirier, and the Miramichi Art Corp.
