The provincial pilot program for advanced-care paramedics has seen 1100 calls in Moncton, Saint John and Bathurst so far. It was launched in April, with 16 people hired. Advanced-care medics can treat people with 29 different drugs and do other things, while primary-care ones can treat with 10 drugs in the field.

Saint-Antoine mall fire still being investigated
Last Tuesday’s strip mall fire in Saint-Antoine is still being investigated. The evening blaze took out the village’s only grocery store, Tim Hortons and other shops. The Times & Transcript reports Your Independent Grocer is set to reopen in a week.
