The Apple Blossom Grand Street Parade will stay in Kentville. In a release, the town and festival board praised the regular contact between them and New Minas in resolving the controversy surrounding its proposed move to the village. Festival Vice President Alxys Chamberlin also says they rediscovered “clarity and understanding” about Kentville’s support for the event.

Province improving support of sexual assault victims
The province will improve its support of women, children and other victims of sexual assault. That includes hiring two special prosecutors to handle these cases, partnering with the federal government to provide free legal advice for victims, providing special training to Crown attorneys and ensuring police have what they need to investigate, and opening a new domestic violence court in Halifax, among other things.
