NS electoral fight

Acadian Affairs Minister Michel Samson is wondering why the Acadian federation is threatening to take the riding boundary dispute to court.  It wants the boundaries change to reflect a court decision before an election is called.

Samson says that isn’t neccessary since the government and Acadian Federation have been talking and are close to a process to address those concerns.  The Federation says calling an election before the boundaries are settled would be unconstitutional, but Samson disagrees.

Yarmouth crash

The R-C-M-P are investigating after an A-T-V driver was seriously injured in a collision with a car east of Yarmouth.

Officers were called to Tusket Monday night and found an ATV driver unconcious on the road.  The 19 year old man from Quinan was taken to hospital with serious injuries.  The driver of a car had minor cuts and scratches.

The Mounties say the A-T-V driver, who was not wearing a helmet; was trying to pass the car when the car turned left into a driveway and they collided.
