Nova Scotia’s New Democratic Party is kicking off its campaign in anticipation of a provincial election. The party will showcase its roster of candidates at a rally today in Dartmouth. Liberal Premier Stephen McNeil has yet to announce an election date, but many have speculated that it will be soon. Nova Scotia is the only province without a fixed election date; the government will reach the four-year mark in October.

Dalhousie Looking for New Music to Celebrate 200th Anniversary
Dalhousie University is looking for a new composition to ring in its 200th anniversary. The university has put out an open call for a composition to be performed by a brass quintet at next year’s anniversary celebration and possibly convocations to come. They say the piece cannot be more than two-and-a-half minutes long and the winning composer will receive 2000 dollars
