KES backs-off arena proposal

The King’s-Edgehill School has pulled its support from the proposed hockey heritage museum and arena.

Headmaster Joe Seagram told the Annapolis County Spectator that the community is divided on the proposed new Hockey Heritage Centre, and it’s not the school’s intent to cause further divide.

KES had earlier committed $1 million towards the project to be located near Long Pond in Windsor.

A counter proposal from the Windsor Agricultural Society claims that they could build the facility for less money, approximately $9 million, at the Hants County Exhibition Grounds in Windsor.  That’s because that location would not need any major infrastructure improvements, like road upgrades.
