Budget 2017-18 projects a $25.9 million surplus. Revenue and expenses are both estimated to increase by 3.1%. The basic personal exemption is going up to $3000 for incomes up to $75,000, and the small-business tax threshold is up to $500,000 from $350,000. Federal funding for West Nova accessibility projects
Federal funding has been announced for accessibility projects in West Nova. The Town of Digby got $12,250 for a new wheelchair ramp, automatic doors and washroom renos at Town Hall; the Beehive Adult Service Centre in Aylesford got $6789 for a stair lift; and Legion Branch 21 in Annapolis Royal got $2847 for an automatic door.
