NDP plans for investments in primary care, doctors

Gary Burrill and the NDP say they would invest $120 million in healthcare.  $30 million would be spent in each of the next four years building new primary care clinics and hiring more doctors, nurse practitioners, and health professionals.  The party says the number of people without a family doctor has gone up under the Liberals, affecting more than 106,000 Nova Scotians.

Smith-McCrossin wants premier to apologize for suggesting “meaningful ridings”

Cumberland North PC candidate Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin is calling on Stephen McNeil to retract his statements from today’s press conference.  The premier said his party “has stood beside women to have them elected in meaningful ridings”.  Smith-McCrossin says every candidate is making a meaningful contribution to democracy, and suspects there are Liberal candidates wondering whether McNeil considers their riding meaningful.
