The Nova Scotia Health Authority is getting federal funding to develop a miniature endoscope prototype. It uses ultrasound for imaging and precision cutting during surgery, and is small enough to be inserted into the brain through a small hole. Combined with other funding, the government is investing more than $2.6 million over five years.

Animal shelter closes temporarily after cats get sick
The L.A. Animal Shelter in Upper Nappan is closed due to feline upper respiratory infection. Around two-dozen cats caught the bug, and the shelter will be closed to the public for possibly another week.
