Optimism among Nova Scotia’s small businesses has remained steady in March. The Business Barometer Index of 65.9 has maintained its level for the past six months, and is the highest in Canada. 11% of employers plan to hire, while 8% plan cutbacks. 47% reported their business in good shape, while 17% say things are bad.

Parrsboro project
The former Scott mill property on Two Islands Road in Parrsboro has been chosen by Cumberland County council as the location of the new Parrsboro wastewater treatment plant.
Work is slated to start this spring.
The original site across the street was opposed by the Fundy Geological Museum and the Nova Scotia Museum.
