A new provincewide dispatch system is out to help ground search and rescue teams. It can send requests for help to every member of a team, or several teams, at once. The $69,000 cost was shared between the provincial and federal governments, and volunteers.

Amherst police warn of scams
Amherst police say they’ve received several calls recently about attempted fraud. They include one last Friday where someone pretending to be from VISA told a person they had suspicious activity on their account, and wanted information. Police urge you to be vigilant, especially as the scams get more sophisticated.
