NS injured workers group

An injured workers group is renewing its calls for a broad review of Nova Scotia’s workers compensation system, which it says is hampered by foot-dragging and a board whose decisions are often overturned when appealed.

The Pictou County Injured Workers Association was established 25 years ago to help workers make their way through the workers compensation system.  It now has more than 600 active files.

A 2002 review of the workers compensation system criticized the workers compensation system in the province, and made several recommendations, including a mandatory review every four years.
