A young rescue dog found in Rexton starving and covered in maggots had to be put to sleep.
The golden retriever-mix was euthanized Wednesday at the Riverview Animal Hospital, as his heath continued to deteriorate.
The N.B. SPCA told The Tribune it was not investigating the case as an official report had not yet been filed with them.
