The stranded beluga whale has been captured from the Nepisiguit River. Officials got it this morning and are taking it to the St. Lawrence Estuary near Cacouna, Quebec. That’s where other belugas usually spend the summer. It’s not known why the whale ended up in the Nepisiguit, but some scientists think it was chasing food.
