Public meeting on moving the Moncton Market

The senior Moncton city planner would like to see the Moncton market move to another location, acording to the Times and Transcript. S├ębastien Arcand wants it relocated to a parking lot off Downing Street as part of plans to rejuvenate the downtown.

A public meeting is being held on that this morning at the Capitol Theatre. Arcand thinks the public Library should remain at or near its present location. He didn’t comment on a proposal to move the library to the former Moncton High School building which is now before the provincial government. He just said large and small cities alike use libraries as a key piece of public infrastructure.
