Public meeting on moving the Moncton Market

The senior Moncton city planner would like to see the Moncton market move to another location, acording to the Times and Transcript. Sébastien Arcand wants it relocated to a parking lot off Downing Street as part of plans to rejuvenate the downtown.

A public meeting is being held on that this morning at the Capitol Theatre. Arcand thinks the public Library should remain at or near its present location. He didn’t comment on a proposal to move the library to the former Moncton High School building which is now before the provincial government. He just said large and small cities alike use libraries as a key piece of public infrastructure.
