Yarmouth Sea Products has been fined $41,500 for an accident that injured a crewman on one of its fishing boats a couple of years ago. It will also have to hold seminars on workplace safety.
The company pleaded guilty to Occupational Health and Safety violations after 43 year old Clayton Joudrey was hit in the head when a cable snapped aboard the scallop fishing boat Compass Rose II. Joudrey had only been working for the company for a little over two weeks when it happened. He suffered a broken neck, fractured skull and fractured eye socket.
