Councillors will continue to support private bid for old MHS

Moncton City Council will continue to support a private developers’ plans for the old Moncton High School, according to the Times and Transcript.

Councillor Shawn Crossman wanted council to withdraw its support because Terra Trust and Bird Construction missed a deadline to make their plans public. The company sent a letter to council saying it’ll make the plans public once the province sells it the property.

Mayor Dawn Arnold said there are two proposals for the property and taking one of them off the table would limit the province’s choices. The other proposal is by MH rennaisance which wants to turn the building into a public arts space.
