Doctor Shortages Close ER’s Across Nova Scotia

Doctor shortages continue to close Emergency rooms across the province. Five separate emergency departments were forced to close over the weekend due to a lack of available physicians. The ER at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital closed yesterday and won’t reopen until Tuesday. The Northside general hospital in North Sydney closed yesterday before reopening this morning. The Springhill Collaborative Emergency Centre closed yesterday and will be closed again today until 830 this evening. The South Cumberland Collaborative Emergency Centre in Parrsboro and the Strait Richmond Hospital in Cleveland were both closed yesterday and expected to reopen this morning.
