So far this year, municipalities across New Brunswick made more than 200 million dollars in requests this year for a road reconstruction fund that only has 25 million to dole out.
The dollars are paid out by the provincial taxpayers to go towards provincially-designated highways.
Those are the main roads that lead into communities across New Brunswick and cross into municipal boundaries in the process.
Villages such as Norton and Alma, towns like Minto and St. Andrews, and cities such as Miramichi and Fredericton have all been beneficiaries of this program so far this year.
