Environment Canada sent a meteorologist to the Acadian Peninsula to see if tornados may have formed during a recent “severe” thunderstorm this past Thursday.
NB Power said nearly 7,000 customers in the Acadian Peninsula were without power following the storm, which damaged power poles and properties.
In areas where power poles were snapped in half, Environment Canada is estimating gusts of 195 km/h and in areas where shingles were ripped off buildings winds were around 165 km/h.
