A provincial fishermen’s association has committed funding for safety equipment. The Gulf Nova Scotia Fleet Planning Board is spending $1.3 million on the gear for 600 fishermen. The organization represents the interests of inshore fishermen from the New Brunswick border to the tip of Cape Breton in the Southern Gulf of St. Lawrence.
