According to Dennis Oland’s defense team, the Crown only has a ‘weak circumstantial case.’
Oland is looking for an acquittal of the charge that he killed his father, Richard Oland; in July of 2011.
The Court of Appeal of New Brunswick stopped short of that when it set his murder conviction aside.
The Crown is looking for the Supreme Court to overturn that appeal decision and reinstate the murder conviction.
Oland has been free since last October as he awaits a new trial.
