NS election summary

The NDP’s Gary Burrill wants to increase taxes on Nova Scotians making more than $250,000 a year to 24% from 21%.  He says that would add an extra $84 million over 4 years to government revenues.

Stephen McNeil said his government would expand and modernize hospitals, specifically doubling the size of the E-=R at the IWK.  He also mention redevewlopment of the Q-E II, a 10 bed hospice and a new operating room at Hants Community Hospital in Windsor.

Tory leader Jamie Baillie promised to restore funding to long-term care for seniors immediately, investing $8.2 million annually in those facilities which was cut by the McNeil Liberals.
