Battle of the Atlantic Ceremony in North Sydney

World War Two’s Battle of the Atlantic is being commemorated in North Sydney today. The Battle of the Atlantic was waged between allied and German naval and air forces from September of 1939 until May of 1945. 72 Canadian merchant vessels were lost to the enemy over the course of the battle to secure supply lines to Europe. A parade from the North Sydney Ballast Grounds to St. Joseph’s Church will begin at 3 p.m – ending with a wreath laying ceremony.
