The Marine Animal Response Society say a blue whale that washed ashore in Queens County could have been dead for at least two months. The young female was found Tuesday near East Berlin, but the society’s Andrew Reid says its corpse was seen earlier this spring off Port aux Basques, Newfoundland. Blue whales are endangered in Canadian waters, with about 250 mature adults left.
