National Day of Mourning ceremonies in NB

Ceremonies will take place in Bathurst, Miramichi, Fredericton, Saint John and Moncton as part of Friday’s National Day of Mourning.  16 New Brunswickers died as a result of their job last year, with about 10,500 injured.  The New Brunswick Federation of Labour wants the province to enforce the Westray Act, which makes it a crime for criminal negligence to cause a workplace death.  It’s named after the 1992 coal mine explosion in Nova Scotia that killed 26 miners.
