CFIB highlights discrepancy in residential, commercial NS tax rates

The Canadian Federation of Independent Business is highlighting the province’s discrepancy between residential and commercial tax rates.  Myth vs. Reality: A Small Business Perspective on Local Taxation found that in 2016, commercial tax rates in Nova Scotia ranged from 1.4 times the residential rate in Shelburne to 4.2 in Guysborough.  Atlantic Vice President Jordi Morgan says small businesses pay more than their fair share.
