Multiple Cases of Counterfeit American Money used in HRM

The RCMP and Halifax police are warning the public after numerous reports of counterfeit american money being used in the HRM. Police say there have been 8 reports of counterfeit 20 dollar, 50-dollar and 100 dollar US bills being used in the Halifax area since late February, including financial institutions in Dartmouth and Halifax, a gas station and pharmacy in Halifax, and businesses in Tantallon and Fall River. Police are advising the public that they do not have to accept any money they suspect could be counterfeit and are warning that once you accept a counterfeit bill you are not entitled to reimbursement.
