Justice Minister and Deputy Premier Diana Whalen won’t reoffer in the next provincial election. Premier Stephen McNeil calls her a strong example for women entering politics and a dear friend, among other things. Whalen has been an MLA since 2003, and municipal councilor prior to that. She says health issues are the reason she won’t run again.
